2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival

This past weekend was complete madness. Originally, it was just going to be Loving and I headed off to Vegas for the weekend since she was the only one who had gotten tickets for the iHeartRadio Music Festival. And then 24 hours in advanced, both Jill and I won the lottery for iHeartRadio tickets- which was insane because what are the chances of both of us winning when they only select a handful at random?! So Friday night with a full car, we drove to Vegas and checked into our cheap hotel to rest up before the crazy day ahead.

Saturday morning, we got up bright and early for the complimentary breakfast and got ready for the night. We went straight to the MGM Grand and got in line. Excitement started to build up with all the iHeartRadio signs covering every inch of the hotel. After hours of waiting, we were finally brought into the arena. Highlights of the night included a flawless Adam Levine skipping around like a little kid on stage, sitting right behind Sir Paul McCartney (my Beatles loving heart was going to burst), 30 Seconds to Mars' surprisingly entertaining performance, Bruno Mars who I would say took the award for most entertaining of the night, bumping into a lost and confused Colton Haynes during Miguel's set, nostalgia taking over/completely feelin' Drake's performance, and dancing and singing next to Darren Criss to JT's closing performance haha! Days later and I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around the idea that this was my first music festival experience and it was all for free!

The next day was spent killing some time so we wouldn't have to sit in traffic. We grubbed at the Rio Buffet and did some shopping at Planet Hollywood where we bumped into Colton Haynes again. Such a beautiful specimen that guy is. Headed home and back to reality. It somehow feels like a double life to just resume day-to-day living after such an experience.
