Wrex The Halls 2013

December 8th was 91X's annual Christmas music festival, Wrex The Halls. The show was headlined by Queens of the Stone Age with the lineup including Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys, Alt-J, Cage The Elephant, The Silent Comedy, and J. Roddy Walston and The Business. Some notable highlights of the day for me was getting to meet Vampire Weekend (Ezra is a QT), finally seeing my beloved Arctic Monkeys, and just spending the whole day with awesome company. Simply stated, the lineup and the show and the whole day in itself was amazing. And being a part of the staff that helped make it happen feels so empowering - no matter how minuscule of a job I had as an intern. To be a part of something greater than yourself and on such a large scale is so mind blowing to think about considering how epic the sold out show was. By the end of the night I must've made at least thirty rounds around the whole arena - such a tiring but fun-filled day. Sadly, it was also my last event as intern for the radio station but I couldn't have ended it on a better note. I'm seriously going to miss the people I've had the privilege to work with. Such amazing experiences with equally amazing individuals. I learned so much about radio and about myself during my time with Local Media San Diego and I think the whole experience kind of just reiterated the idea that my future career needs to involve music.
