Hello Mr. Sun

I can't lie and say my time here has been absolutely perfect. I can't lie and say there hasn't been a night I've cried my eyes out missing home, my family, and stressing out about financial problems I still need to deal with. But I do recognize that I'm blessed to be in this beautiful city, with it's beautiful buildings, and it's beautiful people and immersing myself in it helps me forget about my worries even if for a short period of time. Nonetheless, this day was nothing short of amazing and was definitely what I needed. After running errands in the morning, we headed out to Waterloo to explore and see the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, and Big Ben. I really have no words to express how iconic and beautiful those landmarks are. The sun was out and it enlightened our spirits a ton. We've missed sunshine so much that any few hours we get where the clouds aren't in the way is highly appreciated. We went back to our flats before the sun went down because we had to be there for a "welcome meeting". I skipped out on mine to go out with a few of Jill's flatmates in Camden Town which ended up being a fail because we were completely lost. Some of us decided to just leave to avoid the tube closing down before we could get home. At least we got a bit of a workout in ha!
