Rome Photo Diary Part II

Our second day in Rome, we made a trek out to the Tivoli Gardens, which was confusing and a bit of a  journey, but so incredibly worth it. I can't lie, our pre-teen Lizzie McGuire dreams is the main reason we found ourselves there but ya know what, it felt surreal to be standing in a place we only dreamt about as little girls. The gardens felt magical and definitely something worth checking out if you have a few moments to spare while in Rome. I remember a flash thunderstorm happened out of no where so we decided to wait it out before exploring the rest of the gardens. It was a good idea on our part as it turned out, all the other tourists gave up and we had the place almost all to ourselves. We rounded off the day with some pizza, more wandering, gelato, another consecutive cone of gelato, and a glimpse of the beautiful Colosseum at night.

On our final full day, we grabbed breakfast at one of the best pizza places in Rome, Pinsere Roma. Great service and even greater pizza! We filled the day with more of the major things to see such as St. Peter's Basilica, Castel Sant'Angelo, and the Spanish Steps. We all agreed, Rome had to be one of the most picturesque cities of all the ones we had backpacked through thus far.
