Outside Lands 2015

August 7th-9th was spent at San Francisco's music and arts festival, Outside Lands. T'was a beautiful three days spent surrounded by nature, good food, and amazing music. Jill, Tommie, and I took the greyhound up Wednesday night and just a little word to the wise, don't EVER take the greyhound. It was probably one of the worst decisions I've made in a while. After magically surviving a 15 hour journey on a bus filled with crazies, we finally made it. Checked in to our hotel, grabbed a bite to eat at the San Francisco Ferry Building, got settled in, and waited for Ryan before heading out for more exploring. We grabbed dinner at this Italian restaurant called Il Casaro and it was delicious! Walked back to our hotel, dodged a bunch of rats on our shortcut through a park, made a fort, and waited for the others to arrive.

Day 1 of Outside Lands was spent watching The Family Crest, Leon Bridges, George Ezra, Glass Animals, Chet Faker, and Mumford & Sons. Fell in love with Chet Faker that day. Mumford & Sons slayed their two hour set, as expected.

Day 2 was one of our more chilled out days (until night fell). Watched Misterwives, explored Choco Lands, Cheese Lands, and Wine Lands, watched Toro y Moi, G Eazy, and last but not least, Kendrick.  We were literally packed like sardines and his performance was insane. The craziness of it all took the life out of us by the end of the night that we spent a good half an hour just laying out in the grass trying to recuperate.

Day 3 was the smoothest and best day of the entire weekend. We watched Sza (the most adorable human being), James Bay (one of the best sets of the weekend), DJ Mustard (funnest), a little bit of Odesza, Sam Smith (I cried), and Elton John. The most noteworthy moment was singing Rocket Man with the entire crowd as we watched a Buzz Lightyear balloon being released into the sky.

All in all, such a great weekend. Absolutely loved every set I watched and loved that I got to experience it with people that have such a genuine love for music!
