Catalina Island Photo Diary

We spent the weekend in Catalina Island for my best friend's 24th birthday. The first day consisted of taking a ferry from Long Beach to Avalon which took about an hour. We checked into the Hotel Mac Rae and made our way to our first tour of the day, the Ocean Runner, which was a speed boat that took us out far enough to see a pod of dolphins flipping around in the ocean! Our second tour was a submarine underwater tour where we got to see all the sea life. After, we grabbed a bite to eat and got our "wikis whacked" at Luau Larry's. Took a nap at the hotel before our zip lining tour which was probably the highlight of the weekend. Too much fun flying over luscious green mountains with the beautiful ocean view. Chilled on Descanso Beach Club for a little bit before heading back for dinner.

Our second day on the island was more of a chill day. We had a bottomless mimosa brunch at the Avalon Grille, rented golf carts to explore the rest of the island, stopped by The Sandtrap for $1 tacos, stopped by a candy shop for some sweets, and lounged on the pier until we had to catch our ferry back to Long Beach. I didn't expect to like Catalina as much as I did but I loved it so much so that there were times my cheeks hurt from smiling too much haha. I love the small town-y vibes and it truly is the best weekend getaway if you don't want to feel too overwhelmed with too much to do/see.
