2019 Year In Review

I'm starting to learn that there are years that ask questions and years that answer and I think in the couple years prior to 2019, I had so many hopes and dreams and questions — and all of 'em got answered this year. I couldn't be more grateful to end this decade on such a high note, to finally feel a sense of direction and to start a new one with so much drive for more.

Every single day in 2019 was a blessing but here are some highlights:
  • Signing my lease and moving into my first lil studio apartment.
  • Getting promoted twice in my ten months at my agency and during that time:
    • Attending/social media-ing for iHeartRadio Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards and the Emmys — shows I used to attend as a young seat filler with nothing better to do.
    • Working on the FOXTV account.
    • Working with some of the most driven and creative individuals.
  • Returning to my favorite city with my best friends — NYC for Yssa's birthday.
  • Renting out a penthouse suite at The Kimpton for an unforgettable (but v forgettable) 26th birthday lol.
  • Cozy cabin chillin' in Big Sur and exploring Monterey for Andy's birthday.
  • Crazy/bad-decision-making weekends in LA making for the best stories to tell.
  • Visiting Yssa and RJ in the bay and attending HER's inaugural Lights Out Festival with Tay.
  • Attending my first Boiler Room with Steph.
  • The wildest night slanging Sizzler's cheese toast on stage at my first 143 with Jackie.
  • Returning to Europe for the first time in five years and meeting up with Rayven in Budapest. Discovering the magic that is Hungarian food + exploring such an effortlessly beautiful city.
  • Visiting Ray and Khalil's new home city of Naples and road-tripping down to the southern coast of Italy hitting up Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Sorrento.
  • Seeing NAO, Lucky Daye, Brandy, Monica, Col3trane, Tone Stith, Ari Lennox, Daniel Caesar, Jhene Aiko, HER, Lizzo, Jessie Reyez, 6lack, T-Pain, Baby Rose, Snoh Aalegra, James Blake and SiR live.
  • Second annual Sassy n' Assy Christmasgiving — taking a party bus from SD to Temecula to get completely wine wasted.
  • Paying off my student loans and finally becoming debt-free.
It took way longer than anticipated to get to where I wanted to be but it's been a year since I've moved out to LA and it feels like all the blessings — everything I've ever prayed for has been expedited since I got here. I really couldn't trust the timing of life more than I do now. On top of all this, venturing far out of my comfort zone and growing more comfortable and confident with the woman I am and the woman I'm becoming feels so DAMN good. I have so much motivation for this new decade. 2019 was just the pregame. I'm ready for 2020.
